The Eighth Annual DPHA Conference and Product Showcase will be held October 16-18, 2009 at The Broadmoor Hotel and Resort, Colorado Springs, CO.

The DPHA Program and Showcase Committee has gone outside the box to shake things up and provide a conference like no other. Gone are keynote addresses and talking heads. In their place are dynamic programs and interactive workshops that require you act and think differently. The 2009 DPHA conference features trainers and specialists explaining how you can change your business for the better. Please scroll down to read a preview of the programs to be presented.

If you are a DPHA member, click here to sign up to attend the conference. If you are not a member, please send an email to Alan Primack.

A Panel Comprising an Architect, Designer, and High-End Builder and Installer Describing How to Serve Them Instead of Just Selling Them

Thank You Is Not Enough

Mother Goose Was Right

Turning a Training Session into an Experience

Overview: Each and every training session is a precious opportunity for the manufacturer, representative and dealer. In today’s environment do you really want to keep doing the same old things? This session will ask all attendees to look at current presentations and make them memorable. If the product presentation gets you involved and becomes an emotional experience then you will change minds.

On a Clear Day You Can See Forever

Where Are the New Opportunities in Customers and Products?

Overview: Without using crystal balls and telepathy, this roundtable will not only identify potential customers but also help you reach them without passing over the great divide. Work with other DPHA members to identify how to attract new customers to your business and expand product lines to sell. You will think outside the box and learn how to turn your inside sales staff into part-time outside salespeople and expand the assortment of products and lines offered.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

How to Judge Showrooms and Their Displays and Learn How to Make Them Pop

Overview: When the curtain rises on your displays, does your audience have a moving experience? This session will review anonymously submitted photographs of perceived good and bad displays (you may also bring your own for evaluation). The discussion will cover what makes a display work and what does not in our industry and in other retail stores.

Ante Up: Bidding to Win

How to Write Better Proposals That Sell Your Business

Overview: Each group will be given an actual bid with the goal of making its proposal so superior that the competition will simply fold. This workshop will help you tell a compelling story with every bid and make your potential customer a long-term client.

No Flak Jacket Required

Industry SWOT Roundtable

Overview: This roundtable will discuss the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) in the decorative plumbing and hardware market. This is a special opportunity for DPHA movers and shakers to hear how we see each other’s markets.
