An industry leader once said at a company meeting “Metal finishing is as much an art as a science with a little voodoo thrown in.” Even though metal finishing is not an exact science, there are standards and conventions that decorative plumbing and hardware professionals can use to guide customers and help them select product finishes that will look good and wear well for many years and help make the sale. To do so, DPH sales professionals need to understand and explain different finish processes, appearance, and durability characteristics.
