The Business Development Manager will drive sales growth by identifying and closing project-based sales opportunities focused on engaging with all project stakeholders; owners, developers, interior designers, architects, and specialty contractors. This role is pivotal in providing tailored solutions for interior projects, requiring a keen understanding of design aesthetics, project lifecycle, timelines, and premium product requirements. The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with key influencers to understand their project requirements & vision, providing solutions that will meet functional, aesthetic & budget demands. Position will report to the National Sales Director.


Duties and responsibilities

Project Sales Development with Design Focus

  • Identify and target key construction projects, A&D firms, builders, contractors, and developers to generate sales opportunities
  • Develop a pipeline of high-end interior projects, working closely with design-focused stakeholders to understand project needs.
  • Participate in design industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand the company’s presence within the design community.

Customized Product Recommendations

  • Recommend materials that meet aesthetic and functional requirements, guiding designers in selecting finishes, textures, and colors that align with their vision.
  • Conduct presentations and demonstrations to showcase product features, benefits, and applications tailored to interior design.

Account Management and Relationship Building

  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key design firms and decision makers
  • Offer personalized service and consultative selling to address unique design requirements and project constraints.
  • Coordinate with specifiers to adjust material specifications as needed and ensure timely delivery of products to meet project milestones.
  • Lias & collaborate with local Independent Sales Agents

Documentation and Reporting

  • Work closely with Inside Quote Specialist to prepare project documentation, including quotations, project timelines, and design specifications.
  • Work within CRM, to track project stages, client communications, and follow-up actions to ensure a high level of service and support.
  • Responsible for project pipeline & forecast management 
 
Required qualifications
  • Proven experience in working with Architects and Interior Designers
  • Knowledge of interior design trends and materials.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for engaging with designers and understanding their project vision.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail for managing timelines and specifications.
  • Based in US Northeast Market (preferably Tri-State area)

Preferred qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Design, Architecture, or related field
  • Bilingual English/ Spanish is a plus
